Mrs. Jackie Salmen

Thursday is PE day with Mrs. Jack, as the kids affectionately call our PE instructor.  Mrs. Jack is from Avon, SD and attended Avon Public School.  She married Gordy in 1988, who is an Account Executive for Lakeville Trucking in Sioux Falls, SD.  They have two children, Noah, who is a fourth grader at MCS, and Neely, age three 1/2.

Mrs. Jack attended DSU and graduated with a Bachelor of Education degree.  She then worked at DSU for 13 years.   Mrs. Jack became involved with teaching PE for all grades and Health for grades 4 - 6 at Madison Christian School in 2002.  Along with teaching at MCS, she teaches the Active and Ageless exercise class at the Community Center and the exercise class at the Heritage Assisted Living Center

Presently, Mrs. Jack is the nursery coordinator and co-VBS coordinator at West Center Baptist Church where the Salmens attend.  She loves to exercise, go on camping trips, ride bike, and spend time with her husband and children.

When asked why she enjoys teaching at MCS, she says she loves the kids and the freedom to talk about Jesus and pray.   She comments that the teachers and staff are excellent to work with, and she loves to watch her students spell out words when doing exercises instead of regular counting.  “Doing jumping jacks and shouting ‘J-E-S-U-S!’ is an awesome feeling!”
